His expertise extends to security surveys, contractor management and the integration of physical, technical and procedural controls.
He holds an MSc in Security Management, ISO 31000 Lead Implementer and ISO 18788:2015 Internal Auditor. He is also a Member of the Security Institute (MSyI) and Security Institute of Risk Management (S.IRM).

He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Continuity Management and is a Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) and a Technical Specialist, Institute of Risk Management (M. SIRM) His approach draws on ISO 22301 and BCI good practice to develop workable continuity arrangements.

He has spent several years as Chief Instructor on Swedish and UK close protection programmes and delivered training to European Union diplomatic and consular security teams.
His qualifications include; First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3), the Highfield Level 3 Certificate for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry, the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, and the Level 3 Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management Training.
